Job Title Furnace Technician Reports To: Supervisor, Manufacturing Location: Austin, Texas Business Unit Description: Enovis Surgical Key Responsibilities Utilizes various hand tools, measuring devices and small machinery for profiling, measuring, calibrating, masking, coating, cleaning, and inspecting product. Works from written work instructions, blueprints, specifications, and engineering drawings. Application of abrasive finish to machined and forged components. Application of masking tapes and fixturing to forgings and machined components. Checks and inspects work with precision instruments. Actively participates in continuous improvement efforts. Promptly and accurately completes all required recordkeeping. Keeps surrounding area clean, safe, and organized. Assignments are advanced in difficulty, and require judgment in resolving issues, or in making recommendations with little to no supervision. Coach and train other operators to standards and provide input for improvement methods and techniques. Evaluates nonconforming material and associated defects, create NCMR documentation, and propose rework path. Performs preventative maintenance for and repairs on the furnace; identifies root cause and implements countermeasure controls. Minimum Basic Qualifications Attention to detail and strong quality control skills. High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational training 4+ years of working in a manufacturing environment. Experience using Lean Methodology, supporting Kaizen events and continuous improvement initiatives. Desired Characteristics Experience in medical device manufacturing, or an ISO manufacturing environment. Strong decision-making skills and proven ability to drive root-cause analysis and critical problem solving.
