We're hiring exclusively on behalf of an SEO agency for an SEO Account Manager. This is a confidential search, so the client is not named here. We'll tell you exactly who they are on our first call.
The Role
As Account Manager, you'll take full ownership of 6–8 client relationships across healthcare, fintech, and AI-driven industries. This is not a task management role. You'll lead strategy discussions, solve complex client challenges, and act as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders — all supported by an internal team of SEO specialists, editors, link builders, and growth engineers.
Over time, you'll have the opportunity to grow into a senior leadership role, building your own pod and leading a dedicated team.
Core Responsibilities
• Client Ownership: Serve as the primary point of contact for 6–8 accounts. Lead strategic
discussions, manage communications, and drive retention.
• Project Oversight: Translate strategy into deliverables. Coordinate with internal SEO, editorial,
and engineering specialists to deliver on-time and on-spec.
• Reporting & Impact: Own monthly performance reporting. Use data to tell compelling stories and make proactive recommendations.
• Strategic Partnering: Challenge clients constructively. Bring proactive SEO growth plays and
roadmap updates to every engagement.
• Internal Collaboration: Work closely with the Director of Ops and CEO to improve delivery
systems and drive agency-wide impact.
What We're Looking For
Must-Have
• 3–5 years in a client-facing SEO or digital agency role
• Strong understanding of SEO fundamentals: content, on-page, and off-page
• Proven track record of owning results for high-value accounts — not just managing tasks
• Exceptional communication skills and executive presence
• Comfortable managing multiple clients and projects simultaneously
• Confident in Google Sheets/Docs, Slack, and project management tools (ClickUp, Asana, or
similar)
Bonus Points
• Experience with AI workflows or automation in SEO (GEO, LLM-based content, AI audits)
• Exposure to SaaS, PLG, or B2B brands
• Familiarity with Looker, Supermetrics, or similar reporting tools
